Karen L. Rees serves as the elected city clerk for the City of Fairfield. She was appointed in February 2014 to serve the remainder of a four-year term that expired in November 2016. She was elected in 2016 and 2020.

Karen has worked for the City since 2004; she has been a program coordinator since 2007. She previously worked as an executive assistant in the leasing industry in San Francisco, and also managed a computer sales and service company.

Karen and her husband, Alan, have lived in Fairfield since 1990, where they raised their children. She has been an active community volunteer and was a highly involved "soccer mom" for both of her children's teams for over 20 years.
