Application Process

  • This is an ongoing recruitment (quarterly interviews).  Applications will be kept on file for one year from the date submitted.
  • You may be contacted by the City Clerk’s Office for an interview if you still meet the eligibility requirements and have fully completed the application requirements.
  • Interviews will be held at City Hall with the City Council on the Appointment Committee. If the Appointment Committee decides to interview you, they may decide to appoint you without an interview.
  • The Appointment Committee will make a recommendation to the mayor on who to appoint. If the mayor agrees to the appointment, the council will vote on the appointments at a Council Meeting.
  • Your term will be based on whether you are filling an expired term or an unexpired term (you are filling a vacancy due to a resignation and that person has served part of their term already.)
  • If you have questions on this process, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at (707) 428-7400.

For more information please contact Christian Economon via email or (707) 428-7676. Applications available at: Fairfield Community Center, the City Clerk's Office.
