There are several sections of Laurel Creek that are adopted as part of the Adopt A Creek program. Linda Elkins of Friends of Laurel Creek was the first one to adopt a section, followed by three different groups named Friends of Laurel Creek Beavers: Virginia Holsworth, Chris Kucula, and Penelope Parra.

A large section of Ledgewood Creek was adopted by Kam Holzendorf.
