Solid Waste Rates and Billing

For assistance with billing or service issues, please contact Republic Services. You will receive your bill from Republic Services and will billed every other month at the beginning of the moth. The cost of Residential Solid Waste Service is based on the size of your garbage (gray) cart and this monthly cost includes your recycling (blue) cart and organics (green) cart. Rates are available in the Residential Customer Service Guide or by contacting Republic Services. Compare rates and order a cart according to the size of your family and use. Recycling more will help you bring down your monthly garbage bill.

Organic Waste Tips

Sort it, Solano

Landfill Coupon
One Coupon is good for disposal of up to two cubic yards and one bulky waste item at Potrero Hills Landfill per household, per year. If you need a landfill coupon to come to the Public Works Department, 3rd floor to request one. You will need proof of residency and an ID. One per residence. The name on coupons cannot be transferred.

Two Free Bulky Waste Collection
Fairfield and Travis Air Force Base residents are entitled to two (2) free curbside bulky waste collections per year. Acceptable Items include approximately 3 cubic yards of solid waste or 2 large items such as sofas, furniture, or household appliances.

• Loose items should be placed in trash bags up to fifteen (15) 30-gallon bags, boxes or bundles must be secured with twine.
• Refrigerators with Freon and TV/CRTs have an additional fee.
• All bulky waste items need to be placed at the end of the resident’s driveway by 6:00 a.m. Bulky waste pickups are typically scheduled Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Free Extra Waste Pickup
Each household is entitled to one extra garbage, recycling or green waste pickup per year. You must use the garbage cart size assigned to the household.

After Christmas Special
On your first regularly scheduled pick-up day after Christmas day, each household may leave up to two trash bags on the side of their carts. This is the only time the drivers will pick up additional bags left on the side of the carts. On other days, you must call and schedule a bulky waste pickup.

Wheel Out Service
Republic Services will provide free wheel out service to eligible residents who are physically unable to move the carts. Customers must provide annually a medical certificate to verify physical restrictions, and that they live in a residence with no one else capable of moving carts.

Additional Carts
Additional Recycling Carts can be delivered to your home for free. Carts must be used regularly by residents for residential curbside recycling.

Additional Organic (Green) Carts can be delivered to your home for an additional small monthly fee

Residential Lifeline Assistance
Qualifying residents may be entitled to a 15% reduction of the standard service rate. Solano Garbage Company must be able to verify the following information:

1. Either the head of household must be age 62 or older, 100% disabled under Social Security law, or receiving a non-service-connected disability pension from the Veteran's Administration, and
2. Combined household gross income of less than the extremely low level for Solano County, as determined by California State Income Limits and adjusted by HUD.
