The City's 728 acres of accessible open space provides beautiful natural areas for passive recreational opportunities within the City. Open space is essential for healthy communities to thrive. Get out and hike along our many beautiful hillsides!

Rolling Hills Open Space

Location: Hillborn Road & Lyons Road

Acres: 338

Rolling Hills Open Space is 311 acres and is located off Fieldcrest Avenue, near Crownridge Court.

There are multiple hiker entrance points:

Rollingwood Drive
Hillborn Road across from the Realtors building
Two Fieldcrest entrances, below the water tank at the green cattle gate and at the managed wetland on corner of Hillborn Drive
Hillridge Drive at Union Creek

Serpas Ranch Open Space

Location: Parking Lot on Sanctuary Circle

Acres: 365

The 457-acre open space property is located north of Hilborn Drive and Sanctuary Circle. It is publicly accessible from numerous hiker gates in the area.

The main parking lot is located on the corner of Hilborn Drive on Sanctuary Drive.

Spyglass Open Space

Red Flag Weather Closures

Access to all open space properties will be closed during severe weather conditions to help reduce both the risk of wildfire during fire season and damage to trails from rain during the winter and spring months. To check for current Red Flag closure information, visit the Fairfield Fire Department's webpage for Red Flag Closures. Any person in the park during Red Flag closures will be cited by the park rangers.
