Building Demolition and Removal at 1100, 1116, 1118, and 1120 Texas Street
The City of Fairfield has contracted Unlimited Environmental Inc to perform the Building Demolition and Removal Project at 1100, 1116, 1118, and 1120 Texas Street (Project). The City owns the entire 1100 block of Texas Street and is redeveloping it into mixed-use development to improve downtown vibrancy.
To accomplish this, three vacant buildings will be demolished.
Construction hours and days will be restricted to prevent conflicts with downtown City events. Work will require temporary traffic control so a flagger will be posted at either end of the area to ensure your safety. Driveway and pedestrian access will be restricted in the 1100 Texas Street block temporarily during the day. At the end of each working day, traffic will resume as usual.
Construction:
- August 2023 - October 2023
- Monday through Friday
- 7 AM to 5 PM
Outreach
2021 Pavement Maintenance Project
The Annual Pavement Maintenance Project will complete paving treatment coatings on approximately 1.10 million square feet on streets including Air Base Parkway, Parker Road, Travis Boulevard, and the Fulton-Fermi-Watt industrial area.
There will be lane closures and temporary traffic control with a flagger to ensure your safety. Driveway and pedestrian access may also be restricted temporarily during the day.

On June 3, 2014, The City Council adopted Resolution 2014-93 authorizing the Director of Public Works to adopt amendments to the City of Fairfield Standard Specifications and Details (Standards). Quarterly Project Status Report
The purpose of this report is to summarize the status of all active major Capital Improvement Program (CIP) projects being administered by the Public Works Engineering Division. A major project is defined as one with a construction budget larger than $125,000 or whose construction is awarded by the City Council. This report contains all projects which are budgeted over the next five fiscal years and will be updated quarterly.
