Just as Fairfield is the "Heart of Solano County," downtown Fairfield and the West Texas Street corridor comprise the "Heart of Fairfield". This area, where Fairfield's century-long history began, creates an important first impression of the community. Downtown is where civic events like the Tomato Festival and the Veterans Day Parade are held. Downtown is the home of local and regional government services, and unique businesses that offer something different to local residents.
