The Planning Division is responsible for the the long term, comprehensive, and strategic planning for the growth of the City. The team ensures that the General Plan's goals and objectives are implemented as the City grows and develops. The team also evaluates current and future regulations with an eye to implementing the General Plan in cost effective ways.
Major activities and responsibilities include managing, maintaining, and implementing the General Plan, and Housing Element; updating zoning codes and land use standards; and coordinating major land development projects and specific plans.
Other responsibilities include the continued coordination of the City's planning efforts with other agencies, such as Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD), and Solano Local Agency Formation Commission (Solano LAFCO).
