Implemented Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System

After extensive training, Finance implemented the first phase of the new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, a software that helps manage operations, accounting, and resources. This new system replaces a 25-year-old system, modernizing both our processes and efficiencies. With this system, city staff can streamline workflows resulting in less paperwork, more accurate data,
and improved customer service.
Received Funding for Accounts in COVID Arrears
Council goal: Organizational Excellence
The City received $467,689 from the California Water and Wastewater Arrearage Payment Program. These funds were applied to all delinquent accounts, providing relief to the 1,593 residents and businesses who were financially impacted by COVID. The amount each city received was based on delinquent accounts; Vacaville received $320k, Vallejo $1.9M, Napa $500k, and Benicia $420k. The City averages approximately 500 delinquent accounts, but due to the moratorium on water shut offs, that number had increased to 1,593.
Accounting Earned the GFOA Award
Council goal: Organizational Excellence
The Accounting Division earned the in Financial Reporting” for the 34th year in a row. The prestigious GFOA award, “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence financial report that received this award took approximately five months to prepare and is used for the City's credit rating and for issuance of bonds. The report provides an in-depth look at how funds are being used citywide and provides disclosures to the public, resulting in greater transparency.
